About this image
Dimensions
3464 x 3464 pixels (12.0 MP, square)
Aspect ratio
1:1 - Square, used for Instagram feed posts, avatars and app icons
File
JPEG, 1.4 MB (0.98 bits per pixel)
Web copy
Served as WebP at 301.2 KB - 79% smaller than the original you can download
Format
JPEG is a lossy format that throws away detail the eye is least likely to miss. It has no transparency channel.
At 0.98 bits per pixel this file is efficiently compressed for web use, the usual range for a well-saved photo. Every re-save loses a little more, so edit from your original rather than from a downloaded copy.
What to do with this file
- At 12.0 megapixels this is a full-resolution camera or phone photo. Forum posts and chat apps rarely need more than 1600px on the long edge. Resize before embedding.
- Converting to WebP typically saves around 30% at the same visible quality. Convert to WebP.
